Tournament of the Ages and the Wonderlight Ball 2020

Abby was on her way home from the Tournament of the Ages. The monk dozed in and out of consciousness upon Chichi’s back as he carried his single passenger back to the opposite side of the world. The journey from Icecrown to Pandaria was a long one but Chichi, Abby’s familar of life energy, made it a much quicker and smoother one. In just a couple hours, she’d arrive back in the small town of Greenstone in the Jade Forest where she lived with her two parents.

Abby stumbled as she dismounted her chi-manifested companion, her tattoo’s glow would fade away as Chichi’s energy was absorbed back into the young woman. She smiled and said her thanks as she strode up to her home.

There was no door on Abby’s house, simply dividers between rooms so no one could spy as easily, except for their open kitchen. Abby stumbled in and walked to her side of the house. By the time she had gotten home the sun had not risen yet, but the light of the horizon was starting to fill the air. Abby heard the stirring of her mother and father in the room next door, and kept quiet, not to disrupt their precious sleep.

Her room was small, no bigger then a simple cubicle that could fit a bed, a dresser, and a few personal items, including her new plushie collection. She unloaded her tote, and placed her new plushies on her bed, making sure to hold on specifically to little Ruppert, her new blue plushie from Creative Crescents. She smiled and quickly undressed herself, wanting to peel away the dress she had worn to the ball that night.

She slipped herself into her usual black leather loincloth, and had squeezed on a nice top that she could easily fall asleep in. She flung herself onto the bed and snuggled against her new plushie collection. She was ready for a good nights sleep.

Abby tossed and turned for a while, she had so much on her mind, and she needed to get it all out. She reached under her bed and took out a small notebook. She flipped it open, and grabbed the quill that sat next to her bed. She flipped through the countless pages that detailed her journeys across Azeroth, from saving a brutosaur, to meeting her best friend Robin, but she was ready to start a new entry:

“Dear Journal,

Tournament of the Ages was a blast this year! I went and shopped at a bunch of really cool places, got a ton of new plushies to start a collection, got some antlers, a new drum, and made a bunch of new friends!

I got to watch Robin compete for the very first time! She did amazing! She made it all the way to second place, where a dwarf came after her kneecaps and beat her. But it’s okay, I managed to keep her healed after the incident and now shes doing better then ever!

I had a really fun week, but tonight was… extra special. I had planned to come home right after the closing ceremony, but things changed on a whim. You won’t believe it, but I managed to get a date AT the closing ceremony, and it wasn’t even a creepy dude!

Her name was Leah, she was.. absolutely gorgeous… Really I can’t describe it, but I can give you a run down of how it all happened!

So there I was, minding my own business, getting ready to cheer on the closing ceremony, when this cute little blondie (like me!) comes up and asks if she could sit next to me! What was I gonna do, say no? Absolutley not I love friends! Anyway, she took a seat.. we started chatting.. flirting a little, boy I didn’t see that coming. She ended up in my lap somehow, and then teased me.. and the next thing I know, we agreed to go to the ball together!

I had to hurry and find a dress to wear, so I dug through Hollowlight’s stuff and found a nice blue one. Went over to the Storm Peaks and met her there! Her dress was just as gorgeous as her! We had some awesome food together, she even bought for me, then we danced and..

We had a kiss!

I haven’t kissed anyone since last Tournament of the Ages, so it was pretty special for me.. She’s really special. I like her a lot, I hope she likes me too. I mean she has to like me right? She agreed to a second date! And she gave me this little blue pendant so I can talk to her anytime! Like right now! Anyway, Thanks for listening to me again Journal.

Really looking forward to seeing her again…”

Abby smiled, she felt the warm fuzzies coming on. She closed the journal and stuck it back underneath her bed. She took the pendant off of her neck and just looked at it for a few moments. She placed it on her bed stand carefully, then reached for her pillow.

Getting it all out and written helped her mind rest, and so with it, her body shortly after.

The next afternoon, Abby started to wake up. She could hear her mother at work in the room over. She slowly began to wake herself up. She pulled her legs off her bed, in a daze she looked around.

Was yesterday all real, or was it a dream?

Did she think it all happen, but it was all a fantasy?

The pendant.

She reached around to her nightstand but couldn’t find it. She frowned, it was too good to be true.

Then something caught her eye, she turned, sure enough, in the middle of the night it had fallen to the floor. She reached down and picked it up, a giant smile on her face. She placed it back around her neck and held it up. Okay time to try this out and see if Leah could hear her!

She went to speak.

“Abby?”

Abby blinked for a moment. Was Leah trying to reach out to her already?

“Abby?” No, it was her mother. Abby looked at the seperator where her mother stood now.

“Abby, I’m glad you made it home alright.. How was the tournament? Did you end up going to the ball?”

Abby smiled. “Hey mom… why don’t you get a pot of tea started hmm?”

“I’ve got a lot to spill.”
